China in a photo

This is something I just saw in the street yesterday, that kind of puts everything what China is in one picture. I am not writing anything more, since this photos doesn’t need words.

That is “everything what China is”????? It doesn’t seem fair to me.

If I go to your country, whatever that is, take a picture, post it on the internet,
and say “That’s everything ‘your country’ is”, I bet you will feel insulted.

Respect others, and others will respect you.

Thanks for your comment. However I think you understood me wrong or I put it the wrong way. I really did not want to insult anyone here.

What I meant by my comment was that this this photo could be seen as a metaphor of the contradictions in China (which are actually not contradictions here but often perceived by us westerners as such): The old a and new, the spotless and the dirty, the the rich and the poor, the perfect and the imperfect and so on.

I hope this explains it a bit better. Of course China is so diverse, so diverse that for most of us westerners will never fully understand China. For my part I have given up trying to understand everything but just live here and enjoy the diversity and the “contradictions”.

    Cheers!
