So, tomorrow is the big day, I am leaving for China. I packed up all my stuff, which was of course a last minute job, as always
Anyway I hope I didn’t forget anything important.
So now I have to get some sleep before I catch the train to Frankfurt tomorrow and from there off to China.

Hi you folks out there, reading my blog,

I know I have not been active blogging for an aweful long time. The reason for this is that there have been many important things going on in my life that required my undivided attention. One of those things is that I got married, another one is my preparation for my stay in China, including pretty intense language courses.

So now that the day of my departure comes closer and closer I finally thought it was time to start my blog back up. I got the most important things sorted out by now, only some bits and pieces left before I go.

So I promise to keep y’all up to date how things go in China and what I am experiencing. Also check out my photo section as I post lots of pictures.

I just got back from my latest trip to the Eternal City, where I enjoyed somewhat that felt like spring, some sun, good food and of course, the main reason to go to Rome, good Cappuccino, Espresso and other Italian cafe specialties as well as Italian Ice Cream. Yummy!

While sitting in a little restaurant in Trastevere I found something quite funny on the menu:
"Bruschetta with Oil and Pillow". Actually the bread was fine, but the pillow was a little stringy

One last oddity I found was a store, whos owner might have immigrated from "Down Under" . Or  to put it with Asterix and Obelix: "These Romans are crazy!"

Woot! I just found my 100th Geocache today. Ok the Cache itself was not that spectacular but still I tought worth a note in this blog. Unfortunately I forgot my camera, so you gotta imagine my smug smile

Since I finished my studies, I finally hat time to… - guess what - …take the last test (Developing Web Applications) to become an IBM Certified Application Developer for Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.6.

After a few days of studying for it, you can now call me "IBM Certified Application Developer"

This weekend I was at an intercultural training seminar from my scholarship program. I gained some interesting new insights into the Chinese culture and met all the people of the program who are going to Asia or just returned.

Hence, blogging was not really top priority this weekend. However, I got some changes done on my site. As you can see, there is a new menu bar at the top. Not every section is complete yet, but the Links and Photos work. As a little bonus, I uploaded some winter pictures I took the weekend before. That cold icy winter day was just made for photography.

So stay tuned for more as I will put some content into the new sections.

Woot! I am finally done!!! I handed in my Diploma-Thesis a few minutes ago. The last couple of days were just insane. 12-14h a day working on that thesis. That was the reason why I didn’t blog for the last couple of weeks. But now it is over and I will be blogging regulary again. Also expect some upgrades to my site, I meant to do for a long time. But now I gotta get some sleep since last night was only 3h long

I hope you all had a good newyears party with lots of fun. At least my fun this christmas und newyears was pretty much limited to work These days the deadline of my thesis is drawing near which leaves me little time for anything else. No blogging, so geocaching, no movies, no reading (except textbooks), no anything. But fortunately I am done soon and then I have quite some time to kill before my Chinese courses start. However, as far a I know myself, I will end up working again and taking care of some projects I always wanted to do. Like getting my Linkstation set up with Linux, learn Flash, redesign this blog, get my photo collection in order an put most of it online at Flickr, hinding some more caches and so on and so on.
But for now this is it for blogging this month. But stay tuned, ’cause from Feb. on I will continue on a regular basis.
