Extended Cache Statistics

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

This in one for all you geocachers out there. I came across a cache that had a banner in the description with some rating and it told me to click on it to rate the cache. So I did and I came to this site: http://gcstat.selfip.org/

There you can enter your caches and also put a banner on your cache page which lets users rate your cache in various ways, starting from how you liked it to how long you needed and how often you had to try. It gives you also pretty sophisticated visitor stats. Try it out, it is free.

My site’s new face

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

As you probably already saw, something has changed on my page. Didn’t notice? Look up top! I decided that it was time for a change. With a heavy heart I deleted my old headers with the Paris photos which where sort of like the face of my site for a long time. But since I am in China now for quite a while I figured it was about time to delight you with some new photo headers. All of them where taken here in China. They are all quite different and show the various and infinite impressions of this huge county.

So enjoy, as you probably have to visit my site quite often to see them all (its 22 in total).

First post after the blackout

Saturday, January 13th, 2007

Finally things are getting back to normal here in China, Internet wise. All you not in China probably did not even know how bad it was. Over one week no internet at all. After one week you could sometimes access foreign websites but with loading times that reminded me of times when 14.4 still had a meaning. Now the internet is sort of back to normal but still not up to speed yet. They say the complete repairs will take at lease till the end of the month. Till then this means satellite connections which are much slower then cables.

It is scary how fragile this technology really is. One quake can kick a third of the worlds population back to the informational stone age. Anyway I am back so regular blogging in the future.
